From Hyderabad we went to WARGAL VIDYA SARASWATHI TEMPLE with Mns, Vedanth, Amma, Mallika, Padma and
Nireep. It is only 55 kms from Hyderabad. The
temple is located on a small hillock and has some 100 odd steps with south
Indian architecture. At the foot of the hill we have saneeswaralayam. Although we went in last minute we were able
to participate in kumkuma pooja and
harathi for devi. We performed Kumkumarchana and Harathi and offered her bangles
and a blouse piece. A very well decorated and a colorful deity. Face of
the Goddess is very pleasant and quite. This
temple is under the jurisdiction of Kanchi kamakoti matham so the rituals are
followed according to the principles of kanchi matham.
The temple dhwaja
stambham was installed by Sankara vijayendra saraswathi the last of the kanchi
acharyas in 2004 and from then onwards this temple came into prominence. We did not get to see the temples around the
main temple as we went at closing time. Heard that there is a Sani temple which
is almost 3 feet tall and is the biggest sani temple in A.P
The temple has all facilities like
boarding and lodging and there is a dining hall in the complex which offers free food to the pilgrims. Anyone can donate to Veda
patasala or anna daanam if interested. We had lunch with many young vedic
students and were blessed to have lunch with them chanting slokas. Mns and
myself decided to donate for food and vedic school and gave the cheque to the
temple coordinator. He blessed us and gave me saree and book to Vedanth.
There is a big statue of Goddess Saraswathi on the hill top near which we
took many pictures.
On our way home we bought some guava (jama pandlu) and corn on coal
barbeque.
